That little purple tablet.

Oh man, it's been awhile since I blogged here. A week since my last post. Sounds funny, but I missed this little corner of the bloggy world. Ok, maybe I actually missed the therapeutic daily writing...

Whatever the case, I'm back, and here to tell you about my dear friend who has deserted my in my hour of great need.

To make that less eloquent sounding, my hour of great need would be any hour that I should be sleeping and I'm not, which usually falls between the hours of 11pm to 8am. My dear friend would be this awesome thing called Melatonin.

I discovered it after two families I nanny for/did childcare for used it for their kids. My 3 yo little sister would be up till 11pm every night singing and chatting away, keeping everyone else, esp those who shared a room with her, awake. I told my mom she should "drug her up" with some Melatonin. Mom had never heard of it.

She finally found it online (after the pharmacist had no idea what we were talking about and we couldn't find it in any stores). The first night we used it, she was out within 20 minutes. Bliss! Later on we discovered it works better to only use a half, so she wouldn't crash so hard and then wake up in the middle of the night.

So I started using it a couple weeks ago when I started getting bad insomnia as part of Lyme and was unable to get to sleep until 2:30 on most nights. It worked amazingly and I wasn't soo dang tired all the time (you know, even more than my chronic fatigue) from not being able to sleep.

Because we were running out, I stopped using it, and was doing good for awhile. Then a few days ago, I had a bad night, so the next two nights I used it again and was able to sleep. Tonight would be the third night, and we are officially out. There is more ordered, but it's not here yet.

So I'm wide awake and it'll soon be 3 am. Which really stinks because I'm exhausted and have some stuff going on tomorrow plus a whole bunch o school. Blah. Now I need to find a little tablet to help me stay awake!

Oh ya, and Gma and Gpa are coming tomorrow night (actually tonight, it's after midnight), and they get my room, so I'll be on the couch. (Hey, it's a small price to pay for having your own room in a large family!) I'm sure that will help things a lot [said sarcastically while sticking out tongue].

If you are interested: Natrol Melatonin. We get the fast dissolve, but I'm not sure it Walgreens carries it? It's very natural, drug free, and a dietary supplement, and has B6 in it, which correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's a vitamin we Lymies are lacking in? Heck, we're probably lacking or have to much of every vitamin!

Well, I'm off try sleeping again. I was hoping talking about it would have the same effect, but it doesn't seem so. Maybe I'll dream about the little purple tablets it comes as, if I ever get to the dreaming point of my night.

Just a side note: What's up with me tonight this morning? Maybe I should always write in the wee hours of the morning, cause I sound cooler and write better then. Though I do know the slight sense of humor/sarcastic-ness I have is from being overtired. I know that from experience. hehe Thinking about it, the fact that I think I sound cool and am writing better than normal might also be from lack of sleep. Hmmm...

Ok, really going now.
